BOLDDOG FMX TEAM
The Bolddog FMX Display Team is the UK’s number one freestyle motocross display team. The team is managed by one of Europe's top freestyle motocross riders, Dan Whitby, the first person to flip a four stroke motorcycle in Europe!
The team use the largest most sophisticated FMX landing ramp ever seen anywhere in the world, described as the best ramp in the world by many UK and US riders. The Ramp enables riders to jump gaps over 75ft and perform tricks which involve the rider leaving the seat in mid-air. The show features a wide selection of freestyle motocross tricks such as the ‘Superman Seat Grab’, ‘Indian Air’, ‘Heel-Clicker’, ‘Rock Solid’, ‘Double-Nac’, ‘Switch Blade’, ‘Kiss of Death’, ‘Lazy Boy’ and many more.
New to the Show for this year we welcome “The Rockets” Children’s Display Team. Combining adrenaline-fuelled stunt action, this talented group of young children will astound you with their airborne stunts and formation riding performance. The team is made up of 5 to 13 year old riders who have significant experience of performing over many years. Our experienced senior leaders are just 12 years old! You will see them jumping over a cars and riding through fiery hoops.
The Rockets were formed in January 2018, the children and their parents came together to create something very exciting, entertaining and with a vision. We hope you enjoy their skill and daring!

Close friends, Vandal & Toddy have been riding together for over a decade pushing each other to the limit.
After setting a world record with us previously with the most donuts in 60 seconds what will the duo bring to this years highly skilled, adrenaline filled show.
Don’t miss the action, find Two Brothers Racing Stunt team on the tarmac with their modified stretched drift bikes.
Cycle Speedway
For the first time at the show we have a demonstration of Cycle Speedway, Speedway on bicycles.
In the 1950’s when speedway was in its hay day, boys would race on bombed, derelict areas mimicking their speedway heroes. Overtime the sport grew and grew and the tracks become purpose built, shale surfaced oval tracks with fencing, refreshment huts and spectator seating. Today there are in the region of 40 tracks across the country from Southampton to Edinburgh. In Suffolk we have four tracks raced on by teams from Great Blakenham, Kesgrave, Ipswich and Somersham. The racing season runs from March to October.
Although the concept of the sport hasn’t changed much in the 75 years plus it’s been running, bikes have improved immensely. No longer are they old fix-me-ups from the local tips. Today they tend to have light alloy frames, carbon chain-sets and carbon wheels; they have a free wheel but no brakes or gears. Like it’s motorised cousin each race lasts four laps and lasts less than 60 seconds from a standing start to the finish. It is a contact sport with a shoulder barging allowed to make gaps to pass opponents.
The sport has moved away from being just groups of speedway supporting teenagers to riders of all ages ranging from four or five years old to 60 plus.
Local club Great Blakenham are currently having their best season ever, the club was first formed in 1965, and has actively been competing every year since 1975. Recently they have won two major trophies, the Team KO cup and the National Club Championships, both titles that the club has never won before. Currently they are top of the National League and South East Division 1.
Also, local club Kesgrave Panthers’ role of honour is immense and is packed with national individual and team championships.
We hope you enjoy what you see.
Heartbeat Display
“Heartbeat” is a British period drama television series. Set in the fictional town of Ashfordly and the village of Aidensfield in the North Riding of Yorkshire during the 1960s.
In “Heartbeat”, the main police motorcycle used was a 1961 Francis Barnett Falcon 87 which is a 200cc motorcycle. This bike was ridden by actor Nick Berry, who played PC Nick Rowan, for the first seven series.
The show used several of these bikes throughout its run, with five being used in total. The bikes were painted in the 1960s police livery and even featured a radio on the back. One specific bike, with the registration number YYJ 722, is particularly notable as it was the one used by Nick Berry. While the Francis Barnett was the primary police bike, other motorcycles were also used during the series, including Triumphs, a Velocette, and a BSA.
Moped Mayhem
The “Moped Mayhem” event at the Copdock Show proved to be a popular attraction at the show last year and so we are very pleased to welcome the “mayhem makers” back this year for another exciting time.
“Moped Mayhem” is an endurance race for mopeds, scooters and other bikes under 100cc. It's considered a “grass roots” event, meaning it's focused on community participation and a love for the sport rather than high-level competition.
“Moped Mayhem” is an organised moped racing event that combines endurance style racing with sub 100cc, two-wheeled bikes. The event features teams of two to four riders competing in a four-hour long race. The winner is the team that completes the most laps in the time allowed. It's known for being an inexpensive, fun, and accessible form of racing, with a focus on raising money for good causes.
The event includes multiple classes of bikes, including two-stroke machines, pit bikes, scooters, Honda Cubs and one-off-specials allowing for a diverse range of participants.
This year's event can be found in its own area to the south of the main Exhibition Hall.
We do hope you can find time to visit the racetrack and enjoy the antics of some very skilled (and some not quite so skilled) riders as they negotiate the twists and turns of the moped track.
